Ingredients

Aperol
  • 2 oz Aperol
apple cider
  • 3 oz apple cider chilled
prosecco
  • 3 oz prosecco chilled
sparkling water
  • 1 oz sparkling water
Ice
  • 1 Ice
apple slice
  • 1 1 thin apple slice
cinnamon stick
  • 1 1 cinnamon stick

Method

Build the spritz
  1. Fill a large wine glass with ice.
  2. Pour in Aperol and chilled apple cider, then watch the orange tones start to deepen as the drink settles on the ice.
  3. Top with chilled prosecco and sparkling water for a lively, fizzy rise in the glass.
  4. Stir gently once to combine, keeping carbonation active with minimal movement.
Garnish and serve
  1. Garnish with the apple slice and cinnamon stick, then serve immediately.

Notes

For the crispest taste, chill the apple cider and prosecco beforehand so the ice doesn’t dilute as quickly. Serve right away for maximum bubbles; if you must hold it, refrigerate for up to 2 hours, then expect less fizz. Freezing isn’t recommended because the drink will lose carbonation. Dietary swap: use orange bitters or a low-alcohol sparkling wine blend in place of prosecco if you want a lighter aperitivo feel.
