  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Seasoning and coating
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer

Method

Prep and season
  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness (about 3/4 inch) for even cooking.
  2. Rub the chicken with olive oil and coat both sides thoroughly with the garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Air fry
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  2. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and air fry for 9 minutes.
  3. Flip the chicken and air fry for 9 minutes more.
Finish and serve
  1. Check the internal temperature; it should read 165°F when tested in the thickest part.
  2. Rest the chicken for 5 minutes before slicing.
  3. Serve with lemon wedges and fresh herbs.

Notes

For the most even results, pat the chicken dry before oiling so the seasoning adheres. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes until warm. Freezing is not recommended for best texture, but you can thaw in the fridge and reheat gently if needed. For a lower-sodium option, use reduced-salt or no-salt seasoning blends in place of the salt while keeping the other spices the same.
