Baked Feta Dip with Fig Jam and Pecans

Baked feta dip with fig jam and pecans is a Mediterranean-style appetizer that bakes until the feta turns soft and creamy while the jam bubbles. Topped with toasted pecans, rosemary, honey, and a pinch of red pepper flakes, it’s built for warm pita-chip scoops.

Ingredients

Feta
  • 1 block (8 oz) feta
Topping
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.3333333333 cup fig jam
  • 0.3333333333 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 black pepper to taste
Serving
  • 1 pita chips or toasted baguette

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan
  • 1 baking dish

Method

Bake the feta
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the feta in a small baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Bake for 10 minutes, until the feta begins to soften. You should see the edges loosen and the center warm through.
Add jam and bake again
  1. Spread the fig jam over the top. Scatter the pecans, rosemary, and red pepper flakes evenly across the surface.
  2. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes more, until the jam is bubbly and the pecans are toasted. Look for active bubbling at the jam edges and a fragrant, golden pecan color.
Finish and serve
  1. Drizzle the baked feta dip with honey and season with black pepper. The honey should look glossy over the warm jam.
  2. Serve warm with pita chips or toasted baguette. Pair scoops with creamy centers and jam-topped bites.

Notes

Pro tip: use a small baking dish so the jam bubbles up around the feta instead of spreading thin—this keeps the dip spoonable. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container up to 3 days; rewarm at 350°F until just heated through. Freezing isn’t recommended because feta can turn crumbly after thawing. For a lighter option, swap honey for date syrup (or reduce honey to 1 tablespoon) to lower added sugar while keeping the same warm-sweet finish.
