Ingredients

Campfire Cones
  • 6 waffle ice cream cones Use waffle cones (not sugar cones) so they hold melted fillings.
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows Layer to create the gooey campfire filling.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Add for melty pockets of chocolate throughout.
  • 1 cup banana slices Slice thin so it warms through in a short cook time.
  • 0.5 cup strawberries, diced Dice small for even distribution.
  • 0.5 cup graham cracker pieces Sprinkle as the crunchy layer between melted ingredients.
  • 1 Aluminum foil Wrap completely so the filling melts without spilling.

Equipment

  • 1 campfire grate

Method

Layer and wrap the cones
  1. Fill each waffle ice cream cone with layers of mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, banana slices, strawberries, and graham cracker pieces.
  2. Wrap each filled cone completely in aluminum foil so the filling stays contained while it heats.
Melt over the campfire
  1. Place the wrapped cones on a campfire grate over medium heat for 4-5 minutes, rotating occasionally until the filling looks melted.
Cool and serve
  1. Remove the cones from the fire and let cool for 2 minutes so the melted filling thickens slightly.
  2. Carefully unwrap the foil and serve immediately with a spoon.

Notes

Pro tip: rotate every 60-90 seconds so the foil-wrapped cones heat evenly without scorching. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 2 days, then rewarm gently until the filling loosens (freezing is not recommended because the fruit texture changes). For a lighter option, swap half the chocolate chips for chopped dark chocolate or use dairy-free chips if desired.
