Preheat and prepare the pan

Mix dry ingredients

Mix wet ingredients
- Whisk pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, full-fat sour cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine
- Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture just until combined, then pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Top
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping over the batter.
Bake
- Bake for 60-65 minutes at 350F, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool
- Cool the loaf in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove to finish cooling.
Notes
For the best texture, mix wet ingredients until fully smooth and stop folding as soon as no dry streaks remain—overmixing can make the loaf tough. Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; freeze slices for up to 3 months. For a dairy-light swap, use plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream for a similar tang and moisture.
