Ingredients

Walking S'mores
  • 4 snack-size bags Golden Grahams cereal (or similar) Keep cereal in the bag—do not remove.
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method

Load the bags
  1. Carefully open each snack-size bag of Golden Grahams cereal (do not remove the cereal). Keep the bag upright so it stays mostly closed around the cereal.
  2. Add mini marshmallows and chocolate chips to each bag. Distribute evenly so both melt into the cereal.
Warm at campfire heat
  1. Seal the bags loosely or roll down the top. Place bags near (not directly on) campfire heat for 3-5 minutes, rotating occasionally with a steady, safe grip.
  2. Stop when the bags are warm enough for chocolate and marshmallows to melt. You should see glossy melted chocolate and softened marshmallows inside.
Mix and eat
  1. Mix the contents by gently shaking each bag. Aim for even streaks of melted chocolate throughout the cereal and marshmallows.
  2. Eat by using a spoon or directly from the bag. Let it cool briefly if it feels too hot to handle.

Notes

Pro tip: warm the bags near the campfire rather than setting them on the flames to avoid scorching and blowing the bag open. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator up to 2 days (best texture is fresh), and freezing is not recommended. For a simple dietary swap, use dairy-free chocolate chips and marshmallows to keep the same portable, melty s’mores vibe.
